Double Reed Day 2005

Our guest artist in 2005 was Stephane Levesque, Principal Bassoonist of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. Here you see Stephane explaining a new fingering to a student. Stephane later gave an electrifying performance of Marcel Bitsch's Concertino for Bassoon and Piano. We apologize for having only one photo of what was a memorable Double Reed Day. Stephane was joined by Boston Symphony wodwind artists Richard Ranti, Associate Principal Bassoon of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and solo English Horn, Robert Sheena. Laura Ahlbeck, Principal Oboist of the Boston Pops/Esplanade Orchestra also performed and led master classes. As usual, Jim Kirker was on hand to take questions about maintaining oboes and bassoons. He also displayed a number of the latest models of Fox oboes and bassoons.
