Double Reed Day 2003

Our guest artist this year was John Miller, Principal Bassoonist of the Minnesota Orhestra. He was joined by members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra's woodwind section--John Ferrillo, Principal Oboe; Richard Ranti, Associate Principal Bassoon; and Robert Sheena, solo English Horn. Laura Ahlbeck, Principal Oboe of the Boston Pops/Esplanade Orchestra also performed with them and led master classes. Alan Fox, CEO of Fox Products came with a selection of the latest models of Fox Oboes and Bassoons. Jim Kirker, Boston's premier bassoon technician delivered a talk on the proper care and maintenance of woodwind instruments.
