VIDEO UPLOADS
- After you complete your application and pay your application fee, you will receive an email from Boston Woodwind Society inviting you to join a shared network folder that you will use to upload your videos. This email should arrive within 24 hours of receipt of your application fee payment.
- Whenever you upload a video to the folder, be sure to also email us at woodwinds@boswinds.org to let us know that upload is complete.
VIDEO REQUIREMENTS
- Your video recordings must be made in a space with good natural acoustics, such as a small hall or rehearsal room.
- Video must be in MP4 (MPEG-4) format.
- Your video must also be formatted as follows:
- 720p (1280x720) with maximum bitrate 4000 kbps, OR
- 480p (854x480) with maximum bitrate 2000 kbps
- And the audio track on your video should be:
- Sample rate: 44.1 KHz
- BItrate: 320 kbps
- Your name should not appear anywhere in your videos.
- The camera should focus on a close-up shot of you so that your image fills the screen as much as possible.
- Within each movement of each piece, the picture must remain stationary without any panning, fade-in/fade-out, close-up techniques, or use of multiple cameras.
- Each movement must be recorded in its entirety with no breaks and no editing, however, breaks may be taken between movements.
IMPORTANT NOTE
The audio quality of your video is very important and can make a difference in the impression your performance makes on our judges. You are therefore urged to make every effort to use high-quality audio equipment and NOT the internal microphone or audio circuitry of your video camera.
